Aquatic Center This $6 million natatorium is located the corner of 2nd and McDowell streets.

The center holds a heated Olympic-size pool, which is expected to attract regional and national swimming competitions. The largest in the city, the eight-lane pool is 50 meters by 25 yards and has two dividers that can separate it into three smaller pools.

A second pool is 25 yards long, with an average depth of 3 feet 6 inches. It is heated to 86 to 88 degrees - about 8 degrees warmer than the larger pool - and has ramps for the handicapped, stairs and therapeutic bench seats.

Water temperatures are even warmer in the 16-foot diameter whirlpool - a soothing 101 degrees. Other amenities include a nursery, men`s and women`s locker rooms, a classroom, exercise room and snack bar.

Just down the street is our Education Center which will be our next stop.
