Park Entrance Bench with a view If you feel like relaxing over the holiday weekend, and you`re looking for someplace new, Jetton Park may be just the place.

The 106-acre park on Lake Norman offers plenty for picnickers, bicyclers, hikers, tennis players, or those who just want to kick back and enjoy the lakeside view through lush trees.

You`ll find gazebos, a 2-mile paved bicycle path, picnic facilities and a sunbathing beach, a children's playground and of course a spectacular view of the lake.

A restaurant and dock for those who want to reach Jetton Park by boat are planned later.

Mecklenburg County`s newest park, developed for $2.7 million, is open from 9 a.m. to dark.

Lakeside The park is on the south side of Jetton Road off N.C. 73, west of Cornelius. Parking is scattered along a one-way drive looping through the park.

Admission fees only apply on weekends and holidays April through October. This holiday weekend, Friday through Monday, it is $3 per car from Mecklenburg County and $5 for cars from elsewhere.
