Ivey's Deparment Store Ivey's Condominiums This elegant building at Fifth and North Tryon Streets was designed by architect William H. Peeps and opened as the new home of J. B. Ivey & Company in 1924. The store was renovated and enlarged in 1939.

Now the 70-year-old, six-story Ivey's department store building in the 100 block of North Tryon as been converted to 68 luxury town homes. Homes sold for prices ranging from $155,000 to $245,000.
